Aneurysm/Cerebrovascular

Washington University, in partnership with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, has one of the most experienced multidisciplinary teams in the country focused on the diagnosis and treatment of aneurysms and other cerebrovascular conditions. Patient care is coordinated through the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, which sees patients from across the United States for the treatment of
- Aneurysms
- Arteriovenous Fistulas (AVFs)
- Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs)
- Carotid Stenosis
- Cavernous Malformations
- Moyamoya
- Stroke
The multidisciplinary medical team includes cerebrovascular surgeons, who perform microsurgical procedures; and interventional radiologists, who offer minimally invasive endovascular treatment options. We also have a team of critical care neurologists who coordinate post-procedure care in a dedicated neuro-intensive care unit as well as neurologists who coordinate neuro-rehabilitation care at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
For patients that are eligible, Washington University neurosurgeons lead or have access to multiple clinical trials related to aneurysms and cerebrovascular conditions.
