Twelve-year-old Jackson Scharf sustained a devastating hemorrhage in his cerebellum, the lowest portion of the brain towards the back of the skull. He had an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and was saved by the efforts of David Limbrick, MD, chief of pediatric neurosurgery, and the neurosurgical team at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
